Special Issues

Selected contributions presented at the Workshop on Statistics and Applications (WSA 2026) will be considered for publication in two Special Issues of leading international journals in Statistics and its Applications. Authors of high-quality contributions will be invited to submit extended versions of their work, which will undergo the journals’ standard peer-review process.

Computational Statistics

Guest Editors: Nuno M. Brites, Rita Gaio and Manuel Febrero-Bande
This Special Issue will focus on recent developments in computational statistics, statistical computing, data science, machine learning, stochastic modelling, and innovative statistical methodologies with applications across a wide range of scientific fields.

Journal of Applied Statistics

Guest Editors: Nuno M. Brites, Rita Gaio, Carlos Tenreiro and Milan Stehlík
This Special Issue will welcome contributions addressing theoretical and methodological advances in statistics, as well as innovative applications of statistical methods in economics, finance, health sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, and other interdisciplinary domains.
